Like all Epic Pathways, the abilities must be learned in order, and all requirements met before the Epic Ability is granted.
1st Epic Ability
Skill Requirements
- Fortify 3+
- Bravery
- Iron Grasp
- 2 Different resists (any)
- Weapon Skill (any)
- 4+ Weapon Damage
- Parry
- Riposte
Roleplay Requirements
Must be known to be completely dedicated to a cause/house/person.
Ability
Protector - This skill allows the user to use any of their own primary defensive skills (parry, riposte, evade, feint, shield block, shield bash) for the protection of another within arms reach, similar to an intercept skill.
2nd Epic Ability
Skill Requirements
- Combat Lore 1 in at least 3 different lore types
- Magical Lore 1 in at least 3 different lore types
- Mastery Fortify 1+
- Fortify 4+
Roleplay Requirements
Must have been unsuccessful in protecting someone, to the point that the one protected died (through resurrection or permanently)
Ability
Cheat Death - 5 points up to 5 times
3rd Epic Ability
Skill Requirements
- 1+ Cheat Death
- Fortify 6
- Master Fortify 3+
- At least 3 resists in 3 different types of resist
- Improved Armor 2
Roleplay Requirements
The character must have died and resurrected in the defense of another.
Ability
Merciful Respite - This ability allows the user to take all of the damage of another being for 1 minute. Must state "<Name of protected> I grant you Merciful Respite" loudly enough for all on a field to possibly hear. The ability may be used 1/day. The protector continues to take other sources of damage that may harm them as well.
